With the first show of the Greenville Area Arts Council’s 2008-2009 season less than three weeks away, those who want to save their dollars need to purchase their season tickets soon.

Season tickets are $40 for adults and $30 for students. With four productions – Kevin Sport and “The Right Place”, The Platters, “Bye Bye Birdie” and “Greater Tuna” – slated for the season, subscribers are paying only $10 per show.

Regular show prices are $20 for adults and $15 for students.

“When you buy a season ticket, you guarantee yourself a seat for the show and you’re getting in for half-price,” said GAAC Executive Director Nancy Idland. “Where else could you see a Broadway production or experience a TV show being filmed in your hometown for that amount?”

“The Right Place” will be filmed for airing on Direct TV later in the fall.

The show will be in a talk show/entertainment format, featuring Greenville’s own Kevin Sport with special guest, country hit maker John Berry.

Memberships in the GAAC start at $25 per person and include an invitation to all the lavish post-production parties and a spot in the programs for each show.

“Season ticket sales alone don’t cover our costs,” Idland said. “Memberships help us cover the always-rising cost of artistic fees, allowing the arts council to keep bringing quality productions to the city.”

Checks for season tickets/memberships should be made payable to the Greenville Area Arts Council or GAAC and mailed to GAAC, PO Box 825, Greenville, AL 36037.

The deadline is Monday, September 15.
