Elton Franklin Jones, 75, a resident of Greenville, died Wednesday, September 3, 2008.
Chapel services were held Friday, September 5, at 3 p.m. from the Chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home, with Rev. Tim Patton officiating. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery. Family received friends Friday, September 5, 2008 from 2-3 p.m. prior to service.
Mr. Jones is survived by wife, Nancy Wood Jones of Greenville; daughter Luinda J. Kooker of Montgomery; son, Col. David E. (Pattie) Jones of Dunkirk, Md.; grandsons, Nathan Kooker, William Jones, and Chris Jones; sisters, Willie Ruth Martin of Dayton, Ohio, Lou Ella Underwood of Merritt Island, Fla., Joyce Burt of Anniston, and one niece and four nephews.
Pallbearers were Wayne Brooks, Grant Brown, Nathan Kooker, Ronnie Idland, Kenny Perdue, and Pete Newton. Honorary pallbearers were Carlton Whittle and W.S. Godwin. Mr. Jones was a Girl Scout Leader.
