Sarah Abye Compton, age 81, a resident of Greenville, died May 26, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 from the chapel of Harrison Funeral Home with the Rev. Lonnie Sexton officiating. Interment will follow in Sunrise Memorial Park with Harrison Funeral Home directing.

A visitation will be held Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Survivors include: husband, Q.P. Compton of Greenville; sons, Johnny (Linda) Andrews of Greenville and Gerald (Kathy) Andrews of Rutledge; sisters, Margie Crawford of Greenville and Ethel Giles of Maplesville; brothers, Thomas Stinson of Greenville and Willie C. Stinson Jr. of Greenville; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death her husband, the late John W. Andrews Sr. and sister Cleo Harrison.
