Rebecca Beeland Noojin, 87, of Gadsden, died Sunday, June 22, 2008 after a lengthy illness. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008, at First United Methodist Church of Gadsden with the Revs. Ken Casey and Elton Beasley officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. following the memorial service at Forrest Cemetery with Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Mrs. Noojin was a longtime resident of Etowah County. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gadsden. Most of her adult life was spent volunteering in civic life, especially the arts.

Mrs. Noojin was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, B.L. Noojin Jr. She is survived by her three children, Rebecca E. Noojin of Gadsden, Balpha L. Noojin of Mentone, Patricia N. Dudley of Memphis; sister, Virginia Spencer and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews: Frank Noojin, Tom Noojin, Bill Noojin, Brown Dudley, Bo Dill and Harold Bissell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Gadsden, Amedysis Hospice of Gadsden Hospice Fund, Christen Foundation, 5959 South Sherwood Forest Blvd., Baton Rouge, La 70816.
