James E. &uot;Pat&uot; Cross, 80, of Rogersville, formerly of the Georgiana and Greenville area, died Friday, June 13 at his sister’s residence.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at First Baptist Church of Greenville. Burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery.

Mr. Cross was preceded in death by his parents, E.C. and Rosalie Heaton Cross; his wives, Bonnie Moorer Cross and Alice McNeil Cross; brothers, Richard and Charles Cross and sisters, Merle Walters, Mildred Cross and Elizabeth Lloyd.

He is survived by his daughters, Tonya Cross of Rogersville, Kim (Keith) Swift of Franklin, Tenn. and Sandy Cross of Elgin; grandchildren, Brent (Mary) Davis, Andrew and Chase Beckham, David, Jonathan and Nathan Swift; great-grandchildren, Alex, Keaton, Patrick, and Jay; sister, Louise Cross (Tom) Mair of Rogersville and eight nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cross is a graduate of Georgiana High School and attended the University of Alabama. He also served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Civil Service.
