Mrs. Sarah Grace Stallings Roberson, affectionately known to everyone as &uot;Miss Bay,&uot; age 92, passed away at her home on Wednesday, February 6, 2008.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 9, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 10 at 2 p.m. at the First Christian Church with Bro. Lomax Owens and Bro. Philip Herring officiating.

Burial will follow in Magnolia Cemetery with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.

Miss Bay was born to Sam and Grace Heaton Stallings on November 24, 1915 in Manningham.

On June 16, 1934 she married the love of her life, &uot;Mr. Ed&uot; -William Edward Roberson, her husband of 69 years until his death in 2003.

Miss Bay was a dedicated servant at First Christian Church working faithfully in every ministry of the church but most importantly in her capacity for decades as director of children’s activities, Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School director, and member of Christian Women’s Fellowship.

She also served as Girl Scout leader.

Her greatest legacy is the difference she made in the lives of so many children.

Miss Bay was preceded in death by a daughter, Grace Ellen Roberson.

She is survived by two daughters, Sue (Kyle) Arnold of Greenville and June (Ben) Pryor, of Birmingham; two sons, Jimmie (Camille) Roberson, of Trussville, and Robert (Joyce) Roberson, of Hoover.

She was the proud grandmother of nine grandchildren, Renee’ Roberson (Luke) Reid, of Aiken, SC; Ginger Pryor (Brian) Golden, of Homewood; Laurie Pryor (Robert) Brockman, of Birmingham; Keith (Amy) Roberson, of Helena; Kyle (Nicolle) Roberson, of McCalla; Joel Roberson, of Auburn; Jerod Arnold and Leslie Arnold (Frank) Rutland, of Montgomery; and Jennifer Grace Arnold, of Greenville.

Great-grandchildren include Ashley Grace Reid of Aiken, SC; Graham and Laura Catherine Carlton, of Homewood; Shane Brockman, of Birmingham; Sterling and Jackson Rutland, Dustin Bradford and Caleb Arnold, all of Montgomery; Jack Roberson, of Helena; and Cayde Todd, of McCalla.

Pallbearers will be Keith, Kyle and Joel Roberson, Graham Carlton, David Burt, Chris Hollyhand, Tom Newton, and Steve Beasley.

Honorary pallbearers will be Fred Taylor, Shirley Roberson, Lynn Roberson, Eddie Roberson, Johnny Roberson, Mike Morris, Mickey Brown, Bill Brown, Cecil Cross, and Tony Butts.

In honor of Miss Bay’s passions in life, which were flowers and books, the family will receive flowers or contributions may be made to the Fort Dale Academy Library Fund, 1100 Gamble Street, Greenville, AL, 36037.

Warner A. Stephan

Warner Augustus Stephan, 77, a resident of Forest Home, died Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital. Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 8, 2008 at Love’s Way United Methodist Church with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Survivors include his family members, Wayne and Rebecca Smith of Greenville, other distant relatives and friends.

Benjamin D. Adair

Benjamin David Adair, age 31, a resident of Enterprise (formerly of Dothan and Andalusia) died Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2008 at Harvest Church with pastor Ralph Sigler officiating. Burial followed in Memory Hill Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Adair was born June 18, 1976 in Montgomery, the son of Benjamin Nick Adair and Shirley Adkison Adair. He was a 1994 graduate of Dothan High School and worked as a floor covering installer. David especially enjoyed the last two years in peace and harmony with the Lord and with his wife Niki and their family. He was a member of Harvest Church.

Survivors include his wife, Candice Nichole (Niki) Berry Adair of Enterprise; parents, Benjamin Nick and Shirley Adkison Adair of Dothan; stepdaughter, Alison Raybon of Enterprise; two stepsons, Tory Wise of Wicksburg and Kade Raybon of Oklahoma; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Jennifer Claire Adair, Atlanta, Ga.; Rachel and Matthew Walton of Dothan, and a special niece, Emma Walton of Dothan.

Serving as active pallbearers were Jason Hammitt, Phillip Leach, Kent Golden, Matthew Walton, Jamey Berry, Nathan Gordon, Michael Martinez and Mike Wise. Honorary pallbearer was Mike Wise.

Alma G. Ward

Alma Gordon Ward, age 85, died February 5, 2008 in Lakeland, Georgia after an extended illness. Born on October 6, 1922, she was raised in Fort Deposit, Ala., and lived there until she moved to Lakeland, Ga. in 1988. Mrs. Ward was a faithful member of the Lakeland Church of Christ.

Surviving are: two sons, Bill (Glenda) Ward of Valdosta, Ga. and Gordon (Beth) Ward of Montgomery; six grandchildren, Timothy, Josh (and his fianc/e Kayla Free) Maribeth and Parker Ward, all of Montgomery, Katie and Kyla Ward of Valdosta; one sister, Doris Moseley (Raymond) of Montgomery, one brother, Roy (Dickie) Gordon of Columbus, Ga.; one brother-in-law, R.B. Stabler (Eleanor) of Greenville, and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Emmie Cates Gordon and one sister, Mary Francis Stabler.

Visitation was Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday at the Fort Deposit Church of Christ with minister Charles Box officiating. Mrs. Ward did lie in repose for one hour prior to the service time.

Burial followed in Little Sandy Ridge Cemetery with Harrison Funeral Home directing.
