George Ennis Powell, 79, a resident of Georgiana, died at a Luverne nursing facility on December 17, 2007. Services were held on Friday, December 21 at 2:30 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana with Elder Phillip Box officiating. Interment took place at Union Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home of Georgiana directing.

He is survived by a son, Billy Ray Powell of Georgiana; three sisters, Kathleene Burgans, Hazel Gregory and Frances Powell, six grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
