Catherine Kennedy Lowder, age 93, a resident of Montgomery, died at her home on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Edward Lewis Lowder, her mother, Sarah Best Kennedy and father, Robert D. Kennedy, and grandson, Edward Wood Lowder.

She is survived by three sons; Robert Edward Lowder (Charlotte) of Montgomery, James Kennedy Lowder (Margaret) of Montgomery, Thomas Henry Lowder (Jarman) of Birmingham; eight grandchildren, Catherine Lowder Struble (Ward) of Naples, Fla., Bryan Thomas Cotney of Auburn, Anna Catherine Lowder (Harvi Sahota) of Montgomery, Emily Lowder Wootten (Sam) of Chicago, IL, Joshua Kennedy Lowder of Charleston, SC, Hunter Brooke Lowder (Nick Elliott) of Carmel, Calif., Heather Anne Lowder of Maggie Valley, NC, Kelly Lauren Lowder of Birmingham; four great-grandchildren, Robert Everett Struble, James Edward Struble, Olivia Catherine Struble, all of Naples, Fla,, Max Elliott of Carmel, Calif.; niece, Susan Samford Murphy of Greenville; and beloved companions, Julia S. Dudley and Leon Tyus of Montgomery.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 1 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery with Dr. John Ed Mathison officiating. Visitation with the family will be 30 minutes prior to the service at the graveside with Leak-Memory Chapel of Montgomery directing.

Honorary pallbearers will be Pat Dye, Jerry Barr, Charles Box, Doyle Bender, Dusty Brown, Bobby Terrell and O.P. Thompson.
