Mt. Moriah Homecoming

Historic Mount Moriah Primitive Baptist Church is celebrating their homecoming at 2:30 p.m.

on Sunday, Sept. 16.

A special program of historical highlights along with a memorial

for the late Dr. Michael Daniels, a former trustee of the church, are planned.

Light refreshments and fellowship will follow the special service. Everyone is invited to attend. The church is located on Pat Patterson Road just off County Rd. 45.

Spring Creek BC anniversary

Spring Creek Baptist Church, Allen Winn, pastor, will celebrate their 125th anniversary at 10:30 a.m.,

September 30, 2007. The Rev. John Upchurch, former interim pastor at Spring Creek and Director of Missions of the Butler Baptist Association from 1995 -1999, will be the guest speaker. Dinner on the ground will follow, along with a music program.

All members and guests are encouraged to dress in period clothing.

Holiday-Lewis Reunion

Health and Wellness Classes

The Camellia Senior Center at 111 Bolling Street in Greenville is presenting a series of programs on health and wellness by Dr. Delores Victoria at 2 p.m. every other Monday afternoon. Classes began Feb. 12. Everyone is invited to be a part of these informative free classes, covering such topics as nutrition, diabetes, hypertension, and weight management. Disabled American Veterans

The Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary Unit 67 is seeking new members. The unit meets every fourth Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Building at the Butler County Fairgrounds.

The unit also has a junior program for ages newborn to age 17.

The unit won first place for community service in the 10 to 50-member category at state competition.

Adult Education Classes

The ADPE through the LBWCC Adult Education Consortium is offering classes for adults who did not complete their high school education or need to strengthen educational and job skills.

Classes meet on Monday and Tuesday at the following locations:

LBW CC – Greenville Campus – 8:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Old Greenville High Campus (BCECC) – 6 to 8:30 p.m.

The community prayer breakfast location has moved and is now held the first Wednesday of each month at 8 a.m. at Emily’s Caf\u00E9 and Gourmet Coffee in Greenville. County Commission

The meeting time for the Butler County Commission’s regularly scheduled second-Monday meetings has been changed from 10 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Workshops for each regularly scheduled meeting will still be held on the prior Thursday at 6 p.m.

Athletic Club Meeting

The public is invited to participate at scheduled Greenville High Athletic Club meetings at 6 p.m. every other Monday in the high school cafeteria. The public is encouraged to attend and share ideas toward building a championship-level athletic department.
