The Main Street Summer Supper will bring delicious southern food, fellowship and recognition of outstanding citizens this Thursday night, June 14.

The event takes place at 7 p.m. on the grounds of the Hamilton House on College Street.

&#8220We have a great menu on hand for the evening. Rhett Idland will be grilling chicken for us. We'll have marinated veggie salad, butter bean and corn salad, red potato salad, tomato relish, delicious frozen drinks, hors d'oeuvres and for dessert, Mississippi Mud Sundaes,” said Mary Ann Hamilton of the Greenville Main Street Organization.

A mini silent auction will offer shoppers a chance to bid on several items, among them gift certificates from downtown businesses and a special quilt created by area schoolchildren.

Main Street Director Nancy Idland will present the Main Street Volunteer of the Year Award and the Greater Greenville Main Street Award that evening, while the Greenville Jaycees will recognize the John D. Murphy Citizen of the Year.

One or two other surprises are also on tap, organizers say.

&#8220We are looking forward to a great evening as always,” Idland said.
