Dixie Majors, Minors bring season to a close

Brady Newton was 1-for-2 with a homerun, three RBIs and three runs scored Monday as the Braves took the season-ending victory over the A's in Dixie Majors action, 10-4.

Offensively for the Braves (11-1), Ty Newton and Alex Tindal each scored two runs and Stephen Croley, Kendall Gibson and Thomas Nolan each scored a run.

For the A's (4-8), Brandon Croley was 1-for-2, Jeffrey Stead scored two runs and Hunter Paul and Cory Folds each scored one.

Stephen Croley had seven strikeouts in the win for the Braves.

Dixie Minors

Red Sox 6, Orioles 3

Drake Cabe was 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles and three runs scored Monday to help lift the Red Sox to the Dixie Minors victory over the Orioles, 6-3.

Offensively for the Red Sox (13-2), Nick Hartley was 1-for-1 with a run scored and Daniel Hall Autrey and Colt Reaves also each scored a run.

For the Orioles (6-9), Devon Middleton was 2-for-2, Dylan Brown was 1-for-2 and Colby Booker, JaQuan Lewis and Mark Bradley each scored a run.

Mite league

White Sox 15, Pirates 3

Taylor Thomas and Mark Patterson each scored three runs Monday as the White Sox batted around in the third inning to take the Mite league victory over the Pirates, 15-3.

At the plate for the White Sox (6-2), Thomas and Patterson each scored three runs apiece, Ryan Davis, Tyler Owens and Brian Hill each scored two runs and Brandon White, Anthony Sellers and Jarrod Johnson each scored one.

For the Pirates (1-8), Tanner Cartwright, Clay Newton and Zachary Burt each scored a run.

The White Sox will take on the Giants Thursday at 7 p.m., on Dunbar 1 and the Pirates will take on the Mets at 6 p.m., on Dunbar 1.

Giants, 22, Rangers 7

Five players scored three runs apiece Monday as the Giants took down the Rangers, 22-7.

At the plate for the Giants (6-1), Chase Mansmann, Tyler Weeks, Trey Johnson, Rodney and Raven each scored three runs, Malik Bunch, Monkevious and Darren each scored two runs and Nathan scored one.

For the Rangers (3-4), Luke Taylor and Daniel McKeown each scored two runs while Cole English, Bryan Folds and Blake Burrage each scored one.

The Giants will take on the White Sox Thursday at 7 p.m., on Dunbar 1 and the Rangers will take on the Yankees at 6 p.m., on Dunbar 2.

Yankees 26, Mets 3

Every Yankees player scored at least one run Monday to help lift the Yankees to the big win over the Mets, 26-3.

Offensively for the Yankees (6-1), Austin Nichols, Joseph Price, Derius Mitchell, Jeffrey Tillery, Tyreik McCall and Garrett Till each scored three runs, Kaleb Rinehart, Mac Thomas and Dallas Stone each scored two runs and Tristan Ball and John Kelly each scored one.

For the Mets (0-8), Blake Anthony, Sullivan Harold and Sidaryus Harris each scored one run.

The Yankees will take on the Rangers Thursday at 6 p.m., on Dunbar 2 and the Mets will take on the Pirates at 6 p.m., on Dunbar 1.
