Cancer survivors from across the county and their caregivers will converge on the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church this Friday, May 4.

The occasion is the annual Survivors' Luncheon, traditionally held the week prior to the big event, Relay For Life.

Co-organizer and breast cancer survivor Vivian Killingsworth said 130 attendees are expected at this year's luncheon, which kicks off at 11:30 a.m. The luncheon is sponsored by Priester's Pecans of Fort Deposit.

&#8220We are expecting another wonderful event this Friday. Preister's always does such a good job with our food, and the entertainment will be great as well,” Killingsworth said.

Harlon Burton, vocalist and storyteller, will return this year to sing and inspire the audience with his renditions of spiritual, country and patriotic songs.

Survivors will also receive goodie bags and be eligible for door prizes donated by area businesses and individuals.

&#8220These luncheons are so fun and inspirational and a great way to lead into Relay week. We look forward to another great Butler County Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society!” Killingsworth said.
