This week, Butler County Schools will be decorated and the students will shed their bland uniforms in favor of costumes.

No, it's not Halloween yet; it's homecoming.

The Fort Dale Eagles held their homecoming last week and defeated Monroe Academy, 32-6, and this week the three Butler County Schools will host homecomings as Greenville takes on Monroe County, Georgiana takes on A.L. Johnson and McKenzie takes on Goshen.

Here are this week's predictions:

No. 8 Fort Dale @ Taylor Road

With three region games to go, the Fort Dale Eagles have positioned themselves to make a playoff run following Friday night's 32-6 win over the Monroe Academy Vols.

The Taylor Road Tigers were upended by Clarke Prep Friday night, 67-28, and Fort Dale will be looking to pile on the points in this region match up.

Ty Newton is coming into his own as a quarterback and defensive back, with four interceptions Friday, and with the tandem of Blake Mullins and Mika Jones in the backfield,

the Eagles should roll…

McKenzie vs. Goshen

Miles Brown's McKenzie Tigers got back on track Friday night, and then almost slipped off track, but escaped with the 29-25 win over Zion Chapel.

Elrick Ball led the Tigers with 122 yards rushing while freshman Calvin Henderson continued to shine with a 47-yard halfback touchdown pass.

Although this week is homecoming, the Tigers have still failed to put together back-to-back wins for several years…

Goshen 28, McKenzie 20.

Georgiana vs. A.L. Johnson

After playing two No. 1 teams back-to-back, Georgiana head coach Donald Ray Mixon said he is glad to have his team back home for homecoming and glad this week's opponent is not ranked No.1.

The Panthers struggled offensively Friday against No. 1 Leroy in the 28-0 shutout loss, but Georgiana was able to hold the Bears' thriving offense to just 14 points in each half.

Greenville vs. Monroe Co.

Greenville quarterback Casey Weston suffered a shoulder injury playing, of all things, defense last week and the injury clearly hampered the quarterback during Friday night's loss to No. 3 Eufaula.

Greenville did not convert on the big plays and Eufaula did, something the Tigers must do if they really want to proclaim they are &#8220back.”
