When Miles Brown returns to his old stomping ground Friday night against the Pleasant Home Eagles, he will not be returning to make friends and he will be bringing with him a pack of hungry Tigers.

After matching McKenzie's win total from the last two years with Friday's 42-21 win over Kinston, Brown said the Tigers still have a long way to go going into this week's game.

&#8220We've got to work on getting back to the basics,” Brown said. &#8220We have a lot of things we need to work on.”

Brown also said he hopes his team enjoyed that first win, because they deserved it, but last week is over and Pleasant Home is the new task ahead.

&#8220I hope they don't just enjoy one win because I want more,” Brown said.

Brown, who is extremely familiar with the Eagles, said Pleasant Home has a great offensive line and running back Clark Sanders is a load to bring down.

&#8220That kid can tote the ball,” Brown said.

To counter the Eagle offense, Brown said the Tigers will have to make some defensive adjustments.

&#8220We're going to do some scheming to confuse them,” Brown said.

As to how bad Brown wants a win over his old school, the answer is clear.

&#8220Bad, very bad,” Brown said. &#8220Those are the guys I coached the last several years and I want it bad.”

Although Brown knows a win would be huge for McKenzie, both the school and community, he wants his team to keep in perspective that each region game is equally big.

&#8220I hate to put the cart before the horse, but a win would be huge for us,” Brown said.

Kickoff for Friday night's game at Pleasant Home is scheduled for 7 p.m.
