Approximately 50 entries will bring the city a &#8220Rockin' Christmas” this Saturday morning, as the Greenville Chamber of Commerce's Annual Christmas Parade takes to the streets with a lively musical theme.

The event is scheduled to kick off at 10 a.m. and proceed down Commerce Street to the courthouse.

There will be some twists to this year's event, Annie Glenn Branum, executive assistant at the C of C, said.

&#8220We have folks from Old Time Farm Day driving vintage tractors and wagons as part of the parade this year, along with some of the contestants from ‘My Kind of Town' on the tractor and scooters they won,” Branum said.

Families of the local National Guard unit will also be part of the parade, along with floats and vehicles representing area businesses, churches, civic organizations and other groups.

Miss Greater Greenville, Christen Clarke, will appear in this year's parade, while the Greenville High School Tiger Band will provide festive musical highlights for attendees.

Of course, Santa will close out the parade riding high atop the fire engine, and plenty of candy will be tossed to the young and young-at-heart along the parade route.

&#8220We are looking forward to a good day and hope plenty of people will turn out for our first daytime parade in several years,” Branum said.
