Clifford S. Heartsill

GREENVILLE- Clifford S. Heartsill, 89, of Greenville, died Tuesday, June 7, 2005.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Patton and Dr. Charles Graham officiating.
Burial followed in the Spring Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Dunklin-Herndon Funeral Home directing.
Mr. Heartsill was a proud veteran of World War II where he served four and half years primarily fighting in the European theatre.
After returning to the states, he married Pauline McGough and become an active member of First Baptist Church where was a member for 50 years.
He served a s deacon, Sunday School teacher, Brotherhood Director and various other places of service until his health began to fail him.
He was a lifetime member of the Masons and Order of Eastern Star fraternity.
He loved people and was greatly loved in return.
Mr. Heartsill was preceded in death by one son, Chuck Heartsill, his parents, Charlie and Minnie Staggers Heartsill, four sisters and three brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline (Polly) McGough Heartsill, of Greenville; his son, Rick (Kelli) Heartsill, of Birmingham; five grandson, Raymond, William, Wesley Heartsill, of Birmingham, Vic and Clifford (CJ) Heartsill III, of Wetumpka, a step-grandson, Chris Yates, of Mobile; numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.
Memorials on his behalf may be given to First Baptist Church of Greenville.
