Hank Williams Festival
The 26th Annual Salute to a Legend will be held Thursday through Saturday, June 2-5 at the Hank Williams Music Park in Georgiana. Festival goers will save $10 by purchasing a special two-day ticket, which is available for $30, through May 31.
Thursday: Hank Williams Song Writing Contest begins at 6 p.m., and is free to everyone.
Friday: Gates open at 3 p.m. Music starts at 6 p.m. Admission: $15. Saturday: Gates open at 8 a.m., with music beginning at 9 a.m. Admission: $25. The Hank Williams Festival is an outdoor event, sponsored by the Hank Williams Museum. There is no reserved seating. Bring your lawn chairs. -June 4-Family reunion
Descendants of Reuben Isaac and Arrie Collins Stinson will have a family reunion on Saturday, June 4. The event will be at the Beeland Park Community Center, room 1, from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. All relatives and friends are invited and asked to bring a covered dish.
Appreciation program
An appreciation program for the Gospel Harmaires of Georgiana will be held Saturday, June 4, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Long Creek Baptist Church. All groups, choirs and soloists are invited to attend.

Benefit concert
There will be a memorial concert for Van Odom Gillem at the First United Methodist Church at 6 p.m. on Sunday, June 5th, presented by the First United Methodist Chancel Choir and Worship Team.
Soloists will include Walter Cartwright, Jonathan Chandler, Tom Payne, Debbie Poff, Sabrina Reynolds and Steve Townes.
The choir is under the direction of Tom Payne, accompanists will be Rhonda Bentley and Melody Vistart.

This is a critical time in blood supply needs due to heavy travel and elective surgeries.

Family reunion
The Skipper-Gardner-Barrington Family Reunion will be held Saturday, June 11, at Beeland Park from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. A covered dish lunch will be served at noon. Family and friends are asked to bring old photographs and memorabilia.
Old Time Farm Day
Old Time Farm Day will begin at 9 a.m. on June 11, 2005 on Halso Mill Road, exactly four miles from Highway 31/County Road 45 intersection. There will be old tractors, vintage equipment, antique trucks, miniature horses, donkeys, goats & chickens, mule plowing, butter churning, milking and much, much more.

Concerts to continue in park
Due to popular demand, Main Street’s Concerts in the Park series will continue through June on Thursday nights at 6 p.m. in Confederate Park, weather permitting. Food concessions will be available at each event. For more information, contact Nancy Idland at 382-3041.
Summer Reading Program
The Greenville-Butler County Public Library is once again hosting a summer reading program for children ages 3-4th grade.
One-hour sessions built around a circus theme will be held each Wednesday and Thursday beginning June 15 and 16 and running for six weeks. Reading incentives, storytelling, music, crafts and refreshments are all part of the program. for more information and specific

Recovery program
The sign-up period for assistance through the Alabama Forest Land Recovery Program has been set to run in May. The Butler County Soil and Water Conservation District will be accepting applications. Following Hurricane Ivan, over the next three years, direct, professional forestry advice and financial cost-share assistance will be available. Funds may be used for debris removal, replanting and other related purposes. Advanced tickets available
An Evening with Michael Combs, best known for the song "I'm Drinking From My Saucer" to benefit the Fire Fighters Association, will be held at the Greenville High School Auditorium on Saturday, October 1. Advance tickets are available for $12.

Butler County Aglow Lighthouse of Aglow International Women’s Ministry, has recently re-established as an Aglow Neighborhood Lighthouse.
