Thagards dominate track

Butler County Motorsports Park track owner Bo Thagard not only had a good night at the gate Saturday, but on the track as well.

Thagard’s son, Jimmy, won his first race of the season, after claiming the checkered in the hobby division. It marked Jimmy’s 44th career win.

Jimmy’s daughter, Brandy, finished third in the front-wheel HOGG division.

&uot;We had a good crowd and the weather was good,&uot; Bo Thagard said. &uot;We had a lot of good races. We had the biggest hobby race of the year with about 12 cars.&uot;

Rusty Salter finished second in the hobby division behind Thagard and Jack Daughtry claimed third for the second consecutive week.

Mike Fischer claimed the checkered flag in the front-wheel HOGG feature and Aaron Callens finished third.

In the novice division, Jim Till out-drove Wayne Morris and Chris Lewis to claim first prize.

Bill Brown claimed first in the rear-wheel HOGG division followed by Todd Adams and Ty Majors.

The BCMSP will host a powder puff race this Saturday night for women racers. The track will also host a dwarf car feature race.

Gates open every Saturday night at 6 p.m. with practice sessions to follow. Races will begin at 7 p.m. Admission is $10 and kids under 15-years old are free.
