Bodiford to play Mitchell Center

Published 12:00 am Wednesday, July 28, 2004

The year is half over and in our family most of the birthdays are in September, so everyone is starting to tell me what they want.

Elizabeth and Victor have been working on the baby's room. The theme they are decorating with is the blue jean Teddy bear. I worried about them being so young, but I see they are going to be great parents.

Victor’s mom Linda and his sisters, Christy and Misty are giving Elizabeth a baby shower August 8 at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church fellowship hall. Everyone is welcome to come.

Lomax Morgan and his family went to Gantt Lake for the 4th of July. They spent the day boating and enjoying the just being together.

If you enjoy music and have nothing to do on the 1st and 3rd Friday night of each month then I happen to know of this great meeting place. The Mitchell Center in Luverne is the place, and Calvin Bodiford and his group are the music. They are there from 6:30-10 p.m., playing bluegrass and gospel music. I haven’t been yet, but I am certainly going to try to take my Mom. I think it would be good for the both of us. Music is good for the soul.

I am sorry to say that Bill Tisdale fell last week and was in the hospital. He’s home now but has to have continuous care. Jerry and Bobbie Walker are doing all they can to see to him and are trying to get outside help. If you are in the area and have a chance please stop in and check on Mr. Bill. I know he would enjoy the visit.

Well I have been told of two weddings, but I don’t have all the info as of yet. So, I will just say congratulations to Shanna Reaves, daughter of Bobby and Betty Reaves of the Beat 12 community. According to her mom, Shanna was married in May and is living in Virginia. We wish Shanna and her husband all the best.

Mary Rodgers came in to the store to announce she was married the first week of July to a Mr. McPherson from Andalusia. Mary is the mother of three daughters. Her baby girl is Teisha, a junior at Brantley High. Congratulations to you all.

School will start August 9 in Crenshaw County so if you are like me and haven’t started buying those school clothes and supplies then I am sure I will see you at the stores.

I was very sorry to hear that Gaston and Kathleen Carnes had a fatal accident last Saturday. They were both the sweetest people. They both will truly be missed. The last time I spoke with them they were saying just how much they enjoyed the family reunion. Flowers come in different ways. My heartfelt prayers go out to the family. Heaven just received to more blooms.

Until next time remember, &uot;let you life be a light to someone&uot; and A.S.A.P.
