Greenville, Troy duke it out

Enterprise jumped out to an early 5-0 lead over Troy Thursday night and held on despite a comeback attempt late in the game to claim a 7-3 win in the 14-year-old Dixie Boys District 6 Tournament in Greenville.

The win earned Enterprise a spot in the championship game last night against Greenville. As of press time the game hadn’t concluded.

R.J. Roberts finished with a double, single and scored two runs to lead Enterprise. Devon Hairston chipped in with a single and two runs and Ryan Johnson added a single and scored once.

Brent Ivey and Steve Law also singled in the winning effort for Enterprise. Nathan Foster scored two runs.

Sam Jones, Darrell Reynolds, Drew Vaughn, Jace Colley and Russell Osborne each finished the night with a single and scored a run to lead Troy. Jonathan Wade also singled for Troy.

Troy 14

Greenville 3

After showing complete domination over Troy the night before, Greenville suffered a huge 14-3 loss over Troy Wednesday night.

Troy scored at least one run in the each of the four innings to quickly 10-run the tournament host in a complete team effort.

Shortstop Jonathan Wade led Troy with RBI triple and a three-run double. Justin Henderson and Jace Colley also had big nights at the plate as each contributed with a two-run single. Ricky Goodwin added an RBI double, while Sam Jones and Drew Vaughn both had one-run singles. Darrell Reynolds and Ryan Williamson drove in one run each.

Casey Weston led Greenville with an RBI double. Zach Smith also drove in a run. Joshua Longmire added a double.

Greenville 10

Troy 5

Blake Mullins slapped a solo homerun in the first inning and hit a one-run double to lead Greenville to a 10-5 win over Troy Tuesday night.

Joshua Longmire finished the night with double, single and scored two runs in the winning effort. Zach Smith added a single.

Darrell Reynolds and Sam Jones each led Troy with a single.

Enterprise 12

Elba 1

Enterprise eliminated Elba Tuesday night with a huge 12-1 win.

R.J. Roberts led Enterprise with a solo homer and scored two runs. Josh Martin added two singles, while Devon Hairston and Steven Law chipped in with a single each.
