After winning the Dixie Softball District 6 Sub 1 Ponytails softball tournament last week in come-back fashion, Greenville’s All-Stars looked destined for the state tournament.

Wednesday night in Dothan, Greenville earned a spot in the District 6 championship game with a 7-2 win over Eufaula to force a championship battle Thursday night.

After mustering up enough runs to come-from-behind to down Troy and outscoring Luverne 40-1 in the final two games of the sub-district, the girls’ magic ran out as they were defeated 4-1 in the district title game.

Team members included, Lauren Christ, Lori Fail, Anne Langford, Jessica Langford, Abigale Martin, Cortnee Meyers, Shawnee Morrison, Anna Nelson, Nicole Norton, Marvia Scott, Erin Taylor and Katie Wilson.
