The Butler County School System will offer a Substitute Teacher Training Session on Wednesday, July 14 from 9a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Board of Education Office. The training is mandatory for all persons who wish to substitute in the school system (new substitutes only). Call Amy Bryan for more information at 382-2665 ext. 1213.

Mark David Seymour will be at the Greenville-Butler County Public Library Saturday, July 17, at 10 a.m. This is the finale to the summer reading program "Step to the Beat - Read!" All ages are invited and the program is free.

Applicants for the Grassland Reserve Program received through July 23 will be considered during the first funding period. Preservation of native grasses is n objective of this program. For more information, contact the Natural Resources Conservation Service at 382-8538.
