The Greenville Butler County Public Library plans to make some serious noise on July 17.

On that day, Mark David Seymour will perform at 10 a.m. with his multiple drums as he teaches the children of Butler County many helpful lessons.

The program is an exciting finale to the Summer Reading Program entitled "Step to the Beat-Read!"

Seymour will perform the finale with his program entitled "BE-AT Your Best

"BE-AT Your Best is a program like no other being performed in public schools and libraries.

It is a character education based drum and music extravaganza that touches on almost every subject in most schools curricula.

The host, Mark David Seymour, brings over 100 percussion instruments and takes the children "around the world" with drums and music.

BE-AT Your Best is a fast-paced, high energy shows that is guaranteed to entertain and delight both children and adults.

Seymour uses his drums, music and humor to get across his message that children can BE-AT their Best.

Children's Librarian Gene Bauer said Seymour is a sure bet to give a good show.

"He's great," said Bauer. "He is very entertaining and children of all ages will enjoy him."

Seymour has a very impressive background having spent over 20 years in the music business.

Seymour grew up in Nashville, Tenn. and has performed for over a million people during his career.

His drumming has been featured on CNN, People Magazine TV and TNN's Crook and Chase.

Seymour has played drums for such notable artists as Lori Morgan, Percy Sledge and Kitty Wells.

Now Seymour has chosen to use his talents to help uplift children and spread the message that children can BE-AT their Best.

Seymour likes to get involved with the children.

His 50-minute presentation is very interactive with his audience.

He even has a song about Alabama.

"He has a song where he uses every town in Alabama," said Bauer. "It is really neat and a lot of fun for the children."

Though the show is filled with music, magic and surprises, the main purpose of BE-AT your Best is to enrich kids by focusing on character issues such as self-discipline, respect, concentration and patriotism.

BE-AT your Best will inspire children as well as touch their hearts.

No other program offers such a complete entertainment and educational package.

All ages are invited to attend and the program is free to the public.

Bauer, who has seen Seymour's performance before encouraged everyone to attend the show.

"I have seen him perform before and it was great," said Bauer. "It is a different kind of show, but it is a lot of fun. I think everyone that comes to see him will really enjoy themselves."
