Youth baseball action heats up

Infielder David Black went a perfect 3nforn3 at the plate with an RBI, four stolen bases and scored twice to lead Greenville's Dixie Youth Braves to a 10n5 win over the Cardinals Friday.

Wesley Hendrix, Nathaniel Branum and Mitchell Young added two hits each for the Braves. Hendrix also stole four bases and scored twice; Branum stole two bases, scored twice and drove in a run and Young stole three bases, scored two runs and drove in a run.

Dustin Shell and Shaye Heartsill finished with a hit and two RBI each.

Andrew Burleson led the Cardinals with one hit, two RBI and three stolen bases.

Timothy Hawkins scored two runs for the Cards after reaching on two walks and Cody Womack drove in one run.

A's 11

Red Sox 1

Shortstop Gray Vinson legged out a double, hit two singles and scored three runs to lead the Dixie Youth A's to an 11n1 win over the Red Sox.

Stewart Moody also scattered three hits and scored twice to aid in the win. Raymond Moody and Daryl Starks each had two hits and scored two runs.

Todd Burkett, Cory Folds, Jonathan Youngblood, Andrew Callen and Jim Grayson had one hit each to lead the Sox.

Rangers 7

Orioles 2

Cordez Peagler, Dustin Till, Rushton Nimmer and Stephen Till drove in one run each to lead the Dixie Youth Rangers to a 7n2 win.

Cooper Lewis finished perfect at the dish as he went 3nforn3 for the Rangers.

Daniel Nolan paced the Orioles with two hits.
