Butler County was hit with another homicide Wednesday when a burglary went bad at a Poorhouse Road residence.

Doyle Alonzo Hudson was found slain tied up in his home.

According to the Butler County Sheriff Diane Harris, the killing resulted from a burglary attempt that went wrong.

Harris said they are now looking for two black males, in their 20’s for questioning.

She said her department responded to a call at approximately 2:39 p.m. at 2191 Poorhouse Road, northeast of Greenville.

When deputies arrived on the scene they found Hudson’s body.

Harris said the burglars allegedly broke into the home through the back door.

Hudson, who was home at the time of the intrusion, is believed to have encountered the pair.

Details of the events that followed are still unclear.

Apparently, Hudson was involved in a struggle and then tied up by the intruders. Hudson was then taken outside of the house where he was killed.

Unlike the other murders that have plagued Butler County in recent weeks a firearm was not used.

&uot;In this case it was not a shooting,&uot; said Harris. &uot;They used a cinder block.&uot;

After committing the apparent murder the pair fled the scene in Hudson’s hunter green 2002 Mazda B2300 pickup.

However, police are looking for more than one vehicle.

&uot;We are looking for two other types of vehicles,&uot; said Harris. &uot;We are looking for a Crown Victoria and a Mercury Grand Marquis. One is navy and the other is maroon.&uot;

Harris said her department had received several different descriptions of the suspects who are currently still at large.

Police are on the lookout for two black males and they are possibly aged mid-20s or so.

More detailed descriptions could not be given as of Friday as the Sheriff’s Department was trying to narrow the search.

Authorities believe that the pair were not from Greenville which will likely lead to a widespread search.

The BCSO will be working hand in hand with the Alabama Bureau of Investigations until the suspects are captured.

Hudson’s body has already been sent to forensics for further evaluation.

The murder marked the fourth in the area in the last tow months.

Investigations and arrests for previous murders unfolded rather quickly because of the nature of the crimes.

This particular case may prove to be more difficult because the alleged murderers are believed to be from out of town.

The Butler County Sheriff’s Department has been working around the clock in its investigation.
