Fort Dale Academy's boys and girls basketball teams each won the Alabama Independent School Association's Class AAA state championships with victories on Saturday at Huntingdon College.

The topnranked Eagles (27n1) claimed their second consecutive title with a 48n42 win over LeenScott Academy, which handed FDA its only loss of the season, in the finals. Tournament Most Valuable Player, Senior Point Guard Brett Paulk, led Fort Dale with 24 points.

The Lady Eagles (21n7) claimed its first state crown since 1999 with a 57n50 win over undefeated and topnranked Kingwood Christian Academy. Tournament Most Valuable Player, Junior Guard Laura Skipper, led FDA with 18 points, five rebounds and three steals.
