Fort Dale Academy didn't have any problems with the Independent Methodist School (IMS) Crusaders Friday night.

In fact, it was a walk in the park.

Fourteen players ran the ball for the Eagles (5n2, 3n2) and their defense held IMS to minusn23 yards of total offense as they crushed the Crusaders 24n0 to capture the Homecoming victory.

"IMS is struggling and I'm proud of their guys," FDA Head Coach James "Speed" Sampley said. "It was a good opportunity, everybody got to play and go to the dance happy. We got out of there with no injuries. It's something to build upon before next week."

The Eagles jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back. Two minutes into the game, Senior Clay Beverly scored on a 22nyard run capping off a four play, 52nyard drive. The point after try was no good, giving FDA an early 6n0 lead.

Fort Dale didn't waste any time and scored four minutes later when Quarterback Junior David Moore connected with Junior Receiver Mason Bass on a 27nyard pass for the score. The PAT failed, but the Eagles were in control 12n0.

FDA scored once more in the first quarter on an 8nyard run by Sophomore Tim James. The PAT was no good, padding the home team's lead to 18n0.

The Eagles scored for the final time in the game with 8:04 remaining until halftime when Junior Carson Moseley bulled his way into the end zone from 12 yards out. The PAT failed.

During halftime festivities, Senior Daryll Luckie was crowned Homecoming Queen.

Fort Dale chalked up 190nyards on the ground on 26 carries for an average of 7.3nyards a carry. Three Eagle quarterbacks completed at least one pass and combined for 85nyards. Moore was a perfect 4nforn4 for 52 yards.

Sophomore Will Bowman led FDA's defense with six tackles and Sophomore Matthew Conway and Junior Bert Rice each sacked the quarterback. Senior Andrew Hollis intercepted a pass and Senior Jacob Conway recovered a fumble.

The Eagles will travel to Mobile next Friday night to take on Mobile Christian in a regional contest. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
