Chief Lonzo Ingram announced the addition of five new stop signs to Greenville’s roadways.

&uot;We are constantly striving to improve the safety of the city’s streets,&uot; Ingram said. &uot;As the city grows and traffic increases, stop signs, especially in residential areas, become necessary to reduce the risk of accidents.&uot;

The new stop signs will be put up at the following intersections in the coming weeks: a four way stop sign at the intersection of Hickory and Palmer streets, a three-way stop sign at the intersection of Beeland and Thames streets and at the intersection of Chestnut and Thames streets, a four-way stop sign at the intersection at Field and Hickory streets and a three-way stop sign at the intersection of Flowers and Lake streets.
