The Butler County Children’s Advocacy Center and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge No. 39 announced they will be holding their fifth annual Pro-Law-Am Golf Tournament, Wednesday, June 18, at Cambrian Ridge Golf Course.
The tournament will host 124 golfers on 4-man scramble teams to play 18 holes of golf at the course.
Prizes will be given to the tournament winners and to any player who hits a hole-in-one and various other criteria. The first-place prize is a three-day, two-night golf weekend to Hilton Head, S.C.
The tournament will register teams on a first-come, first-serve basis, and the entry fee is $75 per person.
Law enforcement personnel may register for $60.
&uot;We also are looking for businesses to sponsor &uot;holes,&uot; Children’s Advocacy Center Director Kathy Smith said. &uot;The sponsoring company can register a four-man team and also will receive a banner with their company logo on it at the sponsored hole, dinner for each team member and their name and logo on back of the event T-shirt.&uot;
The co-chairs for the event are law enforcement chaplain Father Fred Lindstrom, FOP Lodge representatives Lamar Grayson, Justin Lovvorn and Mark Harold.
&uot;This is our fifth year holding this tournament,&uot; said Lindstrom. &uot;We always get a tremendous response from the community for this, and we anticipate the same this year. The tournament is a lot of fun for everyone involved, and the proceeds help a wonderful organization – the Children’s Advocacy Center.&uot;
Lindstrom said that all of the proceeds, above operating costs, will be given to the center to fund its various programs.
&uot;We are very pleased to have the opportunity to work with the FOP,&uot; Smith said. &uot;We are grateful for their support of our organization.&uot;
Registration for the tournament begins at 11:30 a.m. Tee-off is at 1 p.m. Entry fee includes 18 holes of golf, cart, free range balls, use of practice green, on-course refreshments, prizes and a barbecue dinner. You can bring your own team or be assigned to one the day of the tournament.
