Both the Orioles and the Indians saved the best for last Tuesday night as they faced each other in Dixie Boy's play. When the diamond dust had settled the Indians (6-4) rallied from two runs down to score three in the bottom of the seventh and take a 4-3 win over the Orioles. The loss drops the Orioles to 0-11 on the year.

The Orioles broke the ice in the second when Josh Womack scored after getting aboard with a single. The Indians responded by tying the score in the third when Stephen Croley came home after blasting a double to left center.

Both teams played even until the seventh when the Orioles turned up the heat. Michael Sides led off the inning with a double followed by Paul Hendrix who got aboard on an error. Josh Womack grounded out and advanced the runners then, with two outs, Chris Cobb singled to left center making the score 3-1.

It didn't look good for the Indians as the bottom of the inning began with a Andrew Phelps strikeout, but Alex Tindal walked to give the tribe some hope, and a base runner.

Then Brandon Croley struck out putting the Indians down to their last out. Logan Ausdua then reached on an error followed by Nick Blackmon who reached on a hit. Then Stephen Croley cemented the win by reaching on an error and bringing home Blackmon with the winning run.

White Sox take win over Cubs in extra innings

In a slugfest the White Sox used a late inning rally to take a narrow win over the Cubs, 13-12.

The Sox looked like they were going to pull away in the fifth when, trailing 5-2, they posted seven runs highlighted by Johnathan Varner's homer to take a 9-5 lead, but the Cubs shook off the blitz and flashed some lumber of their own by matching the Sox' seven runs with seven of their own to regain the lead, 12-9.

The Sox scored three in the fifth and one in the top of the sixth to take a one run lead. Casey Weston then secured the win for the Sox by striking out the side.

Tyler Newton and Marcus Mickles led the Sox both going 3-4 and scoring three runs each while Rico Johnson and Chris Shows led the Cubs going 3-4 and scoring three runs each.

With the win the White Sox move to 7-4 on the year while the Cubs drop to 4-6.
