In Dixie Youth action last week Dustin Till threw five innings of shutout ball striking out 13 batters and leading the Athletics to a 10-0 blanking of the Astros.

The A's struck quickly in the first when Cooper Lewis singled and scored after Caleb Glass drew a walk and Till singled. Keggian Lewis also singled and scored on a fielder choice later in the inning. The four runs were more than Till needed as he proceeded to shut down the Astros with Kendall Gibson, who went 1-2, the only Astros player to reach the base pads.

The other big inning for the A's was the fifth where after two walks and a fielder's choice, Glass doubled, Till and Lewis singled to score four more runs for the Athletics. They added two more in the sixth to secure the win.

White Sox win close game over Orioles

The White Sox broke open a close game in the third inning when, with the score tied at two, they posted four runs to take a 6-2 lead.

In the inning Larry Pritchett scored after being walked, followed by Paul Wiggam and Jeffrey Stead who both singled and T.J. Bender who reached on an error. The Sox added to their lead in the fifth scoring three more runs after Pritchett reached base and Wiggam doubled and Stead tripled.

Daniel Nolan and Brantley McKeown scored the Orioles three runs after reaching base.
