The Greenville High Tigers hosted the Flying Squadron of Highland Home on Monday evening, and nearly lost the game before the final run, but in the end they prevailed, 6-5.
Brady Newton led the scoring for Greenville with two runs off four times at the plate.
Next it was Andrew Hartman with one run for his twice at bat.
Daniel Hartley and Leon Tetter each batted three times, and each notched one hit, although neither scored.
Newton was credited with two runs batted in (RBI) on a double in the bottom of the fourth inning, making the score 4-0 Greenville. But the Flying Squadron came back in the fifth inning to score two runs, eliminating the possibility of a shutout by the Tigers.
The Tigers will be on the road Wednesday evening to travel to Beatrice and face the hosting Panthers of J.F. Shields.
