Greenville Academy hosted a four-person scramble golf tournament May 4 at White Oak Golf Club.

Nine teams participated with two special contests also held for individuals. William Phillips, a senior from Greenville High School, won the closest to the pin contest while Curtis Miller of Andalusia took home longest drive honors.

Greenville Academy tournament coordinator Floyd Atkins said he was very pleased with how the tournament was handled and thanked everyone who contributed to its success.

"It was a great afternoon of golf," Atkins said. "We were pleased to have former University of Alabama Head Football Coach Mike Dubose participating in the event and his team walked away with first place. Local golfers provided stiff competition, finishing second and third. Greenville Academy would like to thank all the merchants and individuals who sponsored holes and donated door prizes. We would especially like to thank Ronnie Terry and his staff at White Oak for their assistance in making this tournament a great success."
