If the type of hunting you enjoy involves searching out fabulous buys and the only game you want to bag is a great bargain, then a Camellia City congregation has the perfect event in store for you.

The ladies of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Greenville are organizing a giant "Trash and Treasure" rummage sale, slated for Saturday, May 4 at the Butler County Fairgrounds.

Hours will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and there is no admission charge.

The "Trash and Treasure" committee is currently collecting rummage sale items for the bargain bonanza'.

Linens, housewares, electronics, small appliances, books, accessories, furniture and home dcor items will be among the sought-after treasures' available at bargain basement prices to the public. The sale will also feature a large array of children's clothing, toys and games.

Though the ladies of St. Thomas admit they have some avid shoppers within their midst, they say no one needs to worry about Saturday's pickings' being slim.

"We promise not to do our shopping until after the public is done Saturdayso our guests will have first choice of some really great buys," notes committee member Anne Feathers.

Donations from throughout the community are welcome and the committee members invite anyone who is interested to clean out closets, attics and garages to help this worthy cause.

"The funds raised will go to our church's community outreach projects, so this sale will definitely benefit the community as a whole," Feathers says.

A sneak preview of the sale is slated for Friday, May 3, from 5 to 6: 30 p.m. There is an admission charge of $5 for the preview.
