Tornados rain on Eagles#039; parade

In a major school rivalry last Wednesday, both the Greenville Academy Nado varsity baseball team and the Ladies softball team defeated the Fort Dale Eagle teams in exciting games.
The Ladies' softball teams took the field first, and after a five-inning lead by the Eagles, the Lady Nados stormed back by scoring 13 points in the sixth inning. The Nados were able to tie the game as Amanda "Smooch" Caine slid into home in the sixth. GA was then able to chalk up six more points and bring home the win with the final score 19-18.
Leading scorers for GA were Amy Winters, with four runs, and Alicia Waller and Amanda Caine, who each had three runs for the Nados.
The varsity Nado baseball team shut out the Eagles 6-0, with Adam Moore leading the Nados offensively with two runs.
The Nado teams then traveled to Central Academy Thursday where the Lady Nados triumphed over the Lady Warriors 20-9.
Alicia Waller led the Ladies in scoring with four runs while Allie Crawford, Amanda Caine and Amy Winters each scored three runs in the effort.
The varsity Nado baseball team fell to the Central Warriors, with a final score of 4-0 in Central's favor.
The GA teams will host Wilcox Academy Tuesday with gameplay beginning at 3:30 p.m. at Beeland Recreational Park.
