Eagles desecrate Cadets, 40-6

Ft. Dale Academy took a long ride Friday night to play against Marion Military Academy, and Head Coach "Speed" Sampley was able to move diversity onto the field.

Starting early in the first quarter, Ryan Landwehr scored on a 12-yard Josh Till pass with 9:48 to go on the clock. The kick was no good, and the score was 6-0 , Ft. Dale.

Again in the first, with 3:38 on the board Ty Langston returned a 22-yard interception for the TD, and Clint Philpot stepped up with the PAT, making the score 13-0 Eagles.

Next, with 28 still in the first, Till completed a pass 20 yards to Jeremy Viers in the endzone. The PAT failed after a bad snap, and the score was 19-0, Ft. Dale.

Early in the second quarter, with 11:09 on the board, Till completed a six-yard pass to Bubba Bass, followed by the Philpot kick, to make the score 26-0.

Still in the first half with 3:45 on the clock, David Johnson scored on a 10-yard run. Philpot again stepped up with the kick, and the score was 33-0 Ft. Dale.

With 9:51 left in the third quarter, Crenshaw Pool scored on a 21-yard run. Philpot made the kick good, moving up the score to 40-0, Eagles.

Marion Military Academy was finally on the board after a one-yard-run with 3:50 left in the game. The kick attempt

failed, and the score was where it remained until the clock expired, with the final score of 40-6.

Quarterback Josh Till passed 11 for 15 completions n in the first half the Eagles never ran the ball, and in the second they never passed.

Crenshaw Poole led the offense, carrying the ball twice for 38 yards.

Ten different Eagles had the opportunity to catch the ball, and 13 different players ran it.

For the Eagles' defense, Daniel Paulk led the way with a whopping nine tackles. Scott Burkett, Andrew Hollis and Tom Duncan each followed with eight tackles.

Next week the Eagles will celebrate homecoming when they host the Rebels of Lowndes Academy.
