Fort Dale defeats Faith Academy 37-0

The Fort Dale Eagles traveled to Faith Academy Friday night and came away with a 37-0 victory.

The game opened up with a 19-yard touchdown run by Joey Hambric with 8:39 left in the first quarter. Clint Philpot added the extra point and the Eagles took the lead 7-0.

The second quarter started with Ryan Landwehr intercepting a pass which setup the Eagles with good field position. QB Josh Till then hit Clint Philpot for the second FDA touchdown. Philpot tacked on the extra point to make the score 14-0.

With five minutes left in the half, FDA struck again as Digger Kimbro intercepted a Faith Academy pass and returned it for a 25-yard touchdown. The extra point was good, making the score 21-0.

In the last minute of the first half, Ty Langston made another FDA interception. Josh Till then completed a 10-yard pass to Ty Langston for the final FDA touchdown of the half. Philpot missed his first extra point of the season, and the Eagles went into the lockerroom, 27-0.

The third quarter saw Josh Till make a one-yard run for another FDA touchdown. Philpot completed the extra point and the score stood 34-0.

Coach Sampley put in his second and third string during the forth quarter.

Clint Philpot completed a field goal with only minutes left in the game to finish the score 37-0.

Digger Kimbro and Evan Brock led the Eagle defense with five tackles each. Three Eagles recovered fumbles Friday night:

Daniel Branum, Scott Burkett and Jimmy Phelps.

Quarterback Josh Till completed five of nine passes for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Till also lead the Eagle offense in rushing with 48 yards.

Wide receiver Jeff Buck suffered an injury during the game and reportedly will not be able to play for the remainder of the season.

Next week, the Eagles will take on Mobile Christian at home.
