On the road again, that is, when they travel this Friday to Mobile County to face the Faith Academy Rams, where they will have their work cut out for them.

That, according to Ft. Dale Head Coach "Speed" Sampley is going to be the case for his team.

"They (Faith) are a lot better this year," Sampley said. "Coach James is doing a great job with them. They defeated Independent Methodist School (IMS) 27-13, and beat Jackson in a shutout, 14-0."

Sampley said basics are where his team will be tuning up this week in practice.

"We've got to get back on target with our blocking assignments n they are something we don't need to make many mistakes on, so we will be concentrating on them this week."

Speed said his team's defense was doing well, though.

"Our defense held them (Hooper) back to 100 yards all game last weekend," he said. "And our specialty teams were better, too n but we need to quit getting 100 yards of penalties per game n that is a must.

"We had some injuries Friday night, but maybe we will be able to get past them in time for this weekend n David Johnson hyper-extended his elbow, but is doing well with it, and Bryce Landwehr turned his ankle n hopefully he will be able to play."

The head coach said another of his faster players was on medical absence.

"Crenshaw Poole has been on medical leave, and we hope he will be turned loose by the doctors in time to play this weekend," he said.

The Eagles have a scheduled kickoff with the Rams at 7:30 p.m. Friday, at Faith Academy.
