The long and twisting trip for the Andalusia Dixie Belles got extended to another day. Down five runs in their last at bat, the Bulldog Belles exploded for 10 runs in the seventh inning. That was good enough to send the Greenville Dixie Belle All-stars home with a 19-15 defeat here Monday night at the Dixie Belles Sub-district Tournament at the Opp Sports Complex.

Andalusia, now winners of three straight games, were to meet Troy in the Sub-District finals on Tuesday. The Bulldog Belles had to win twice in order to advance to the District Tournament.

"These girls never quit," said Andalusia Coach Wayne Bush. This was the second straight game that the Bulldog Belles had come back from a big deficit. They rallied from a 10-run deficit to eliminate Opp on Saturday.

In this game, they trailed by seven at 11-4 after three innings. Andalusia cut it to 11-6 on a two-run single by Kayla Brown. They got two more runs in the fifth when Carrie Harold and Jessica Armstrong scored off Greenville errors to make it 12-8. Greenville's Lakyn Newton belted a two-run single to push the Greenville lead up to 14-8. Newton finished with five RBIs which included a three-run homer in the first inning. Katie Tyler walked and scored in the sixth to the cut deficit to 14-9. Armstrong, who came in relief of Katie Howell, then kept Greenville off the board in the bottom of the sixth.

Andalusia's seventh inning comeback began when Armstrong singled to right. Rachel Jones and Brown both walked. Tyler knocked in Armstrong off a fly ball while Jones was able to take home on an over throw. Howell followed two batters later with a two-run double to make it 14-13. She then tied the game after scoring on a wild pitch.

Greenville changed pitchers going with Newton but that move didn't work. Harold, Courtney McClelland and Hannah Bush all drew walks. Armstrong then sent a grounder that pushed home Harold for Andalusia's first lead since the first inning at 15-14. McClelland, Bush and Armstrong and Jones would all come around to score off Greenville walks or errors.

The at bat ended with the Bulldog Belles up 19-14.
