"It is an very exciting time at L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital," said Tom McDougal Jr., Administrator and CEO. "We are extremely pleased to have Dr. Cohen join our medical staff, and offer full time orthopaedic services and surgery.

"Our mission is centered on providing a variety of high quality services close to home. With the addition of full time orthopaedic services, we are completing a major step in assuring that the community can access this specialty service close to home. We want to extend a very warm welcome to Dr. Cohen and his family."

Dr. Cohen is originally from Brooklyn, NY, and received medical training from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency in General Surgery and Orthopaedic Surgery at Metropolitan Hospital Central Division in Philadelphia, Pa. and is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery. He has been practicing orthopaedic medicine for the past 10 years.

"Today, it seems that the big focus for orthopaedic physicians is in sports medicine. While I enjoy treating sports-related injuries, I want to make sure that the community is keenly aware that the cause of the injury or the age of the patient does not matter.

"I treat all types of injuries and teach ways to prevent re-injuries," said Cohen.

Dr. Cohen and his wife Emilie have two sons, Marc, age six and Kyle, age four. When Dr. Cohen is not busy setting broken bones and repairing torn and sprained muscles and joints, he enjoys boating, photography, computers and outings with his family.

Dr. Cohen can be reached by contacting Orthopaedic Bone and Joint Specialists at (334) 382-4342. His office is located at 44 Medical Arts Court, Suite 4, next to Drs. Victoria and Victoria.
