The Eagles of Fort Dale Academy hosted the Leopards of Mobile Christian Academy on Saturday, and MCA was not prepared for the power of the Eagles.

In the end, and not before three separate team technical fouls were assessed against MCA, the Eagles were the victors, 83-73.

It was clear that the Eagles were going to be a force for reckoning, when, early in the first period, Adam Crenshaw made a three-pointer, then stole the ball back during the Leopards' pass-in, to score on a lay-up.

The first period saw a two-to-one exchange in the Eagles' favor, with 20 points to the 10 of MCA.

In the second, FDA tallied 29 points to 17 for the Leopards, making the score at the halftime break Fort Dale 49, Mobile Christian 27.

Up to the half, Crenshaw was four for four on three-pointers with 20 points to his name, and Bill Cates had scored 10 points, including one three-pointer out of two attempts.

In the third period, the Eagles slacked off a bit, and the Leopards were able to score 23 points to FDA's 14, making the three-period score FDA 63, MCA 50.

It was also during the third that an irate MCA fan started yelling at the referee, and following warnings, the Leopards were given the first of three team technical fouls. The next two were from the MCA coach's arguments with the referee, and each time, Adam Crenshaw showed the Leopards just how free throws were supposed to be made.

In the fourth period, although MCA was able to place 23 points on the board to the Eagles' 20, they still fell 10 points short, and the final score was Fort Dale 83, Mobile Christian 73.

Crenshaw led the scoring total, with 26 points, followed by Bill Cates with 18 points, Josh Till with eight points and 10 rebounds, and Justin Pierce with 12 points.

The Eagles went a total of 10 for 19 attempts on three pointers, with Crenshaw ending with five for six, Brett Paulk with two for two, and Cates one for two.

The Eagles will travel to face the Lowndes Academy Rebels on Tuesday and Meadowview Christian Academy on Friday.
