Ah, the beauty of fall.

That crisp autumn breeze; the leaves changing into a myriad of rich shades; weather that's not too hot, or too cold, but just right for a fun day of outdoor activities with family and friends.

Make that vision a reality when you choose to immerse yourself into what promises to be a gloriously fun-filled day for the entire family right here in the heart of the Camellia City.

The Greenville Main Street Association is excited to announce that this year's harvest festival, entitled "Octoberfest", will be held on Saturday, Oct. 14 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.

The festival will take place in the lovely outdoor setting of Confederate Park

(directly across from Greenville City Hall).

The co-chairmen of this year's event, Jean Bauer and Tom Braxton., are especially interested in promoting the newest addition to "Octoberfest" . . "Trade Day".

Braxton explains that everyone is encouraged to come out and rent a booth where they can sell "almost anything . . .antiques, collectibles, candles, crafts, art, books, toys, farm implements, even puppies and kittens-only no old clothing, please."

Bauer exclaims," We are truly excited about Trade Day and expect a number of individuals, as well as some local businesses, to participate."

She goes on to explain the cost for a space for the day is only $25 (or free to Main Street members).

While food and drink concessions will be on hand to sell to those in need of a drink or snack, the day is free for visitors-and that includes lots of great entertainment with something to suit everyone, young and old alike.

Children have many fun and creative activities to anticipate , including face painting, making Harry Potter hats, and much, much more.

Russell, this year's children's event coordinator, suggests "all children wear old play clothes and come ready to have some FUN."

A happy, roving clown will be a continuous part of the colorful festivities that day.
