FDA cruises past Faith Academy 45-0

In a game that was all Fort Dale Academy, the Eagles ran away from the Faith Academy Rams. When it was done, the Eagles were 45-0 winners.

The scoring started with 5:53 left in the first quarter when Adam Crenshaw carried a 34-yard option play for the Eagles' first touchdown of the night. Clint Philpot made the PAT good, making the score 7-0 FDA.

With 8:05 left in the half, Jared Lowe scored with a one-yard run on a 10-play, 80-yard drive, followed by Philpot's PAT kick. That advanced the lights of the scoreboard to 14-0 Eagles.

Forty-one seconds were left in the half when Lowe carried in a five-yard touchdown, followed by another Philpot PAT. FDA held a 21-0 edge when the teams went to the locker room.

In the third quarter, Crenshaw passed to Tommy Ryan, who then played the "throw-back", and Crenshaw went 23 yards for a touchdown, and after another Philpot PAT, the score was 28-0 Fort Dale.

With 1:39 left on the clock in the third quarter, Philpot kicked a 23-yard field goal, making the score 31-0.

The Rams didn't have the ball long, because on the very next play, with 1:05 left in the third, they fumbled the ball, and Philpot quickly recovered it.

Ryan Landwehr then ran 9 yards for another touchdown, and following a Philpot PAT the score was 38-0.

The last scoring of the night was when Joseph Ryan made a three-yard carry for a touchdown, followed by Philpot's PAT. That made the score 45-0 Fort Dale.

The Rams never had another chance, and the game ended in a shut out.

Offensive action was led by Jared Lowe, who had 15 carries for 100 yards, making two touchdowns.

Jeremy Biers carried eight times for 76 yards, and Adam Crenshaw had five carries for 60 yards, and one touchdown. Crenshaw went three for three on passes for the night.

Faith Academy was deprived of the ball for most of the night, and only managed 31 yards total offense, 12 on the ground and 19 through the air.

On defense, Evan Brock led with eight tackles, followed by Patrick Skipper with six.

Clint Philpot and Bill Cates recovered one fumble apiece..
