The Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama announced Tuesday that Ralph Stacy, former CEO of the Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce, has been named to the position of president of CCAA.

CCAA is a professional development organization representing the executives and staff of more than 100 chambers of commerce across the state of Alabama.

Stacy will function as CEO of the organization which is headquartered in the Business Center of Alabama in Montgomery.

CCAA Chairman Melissa Cook, who also serves as president of the Arab Chamber, said the announcement signifies the positive direction the CCAA is headed in the new century.

"Ralph brings a wealth of experience in chamber operations as well as a media background," Cook said. "Our mission to build a better Alabama. . . through strong chambers of commerce is one in which he will help achieve our association's goals."

Stacy assumed his new position effective Jan. 1, 2000 following more than six years as president/CEO of the Greenville area chamber.

"I am excited to be presented with this opportunity and look forward to working with the CEOs and staffs of the various chambers throughout the state," Stacy said. "My first priority is to make sure that our members have a clear vision of the direction that our board has set for CCAA, and the best way to do that is on a one-to-one basis as I visit our members across the state."
