With each clutch shot made, the fans shout of approval at the Greenville Middle School gym says it all.

In fact, no words need to be said.

The Tigers are coming around.

After dropping their first five games, the Greenville High varsity boys' basketball team is beginning to click.

They are down right trigger-happy.

Since their loss to Wilcox County at home, Karl Bledsoe's club has won five of six regular season games through Monday night against Prattville.

With the addition of Jeremiah McConico and the play of the bench, the Tigers are knocking off their opponents.

For example, in the overtime win against Hillcrest-Evergreen, the bench made a profound statement…with defense.

After Bledsoe took some of the starters out, the bench came in and helped reduce a seven point disadvantage.

They did it through a tenacious defense that forced turnovers and easy buckets.

The rest of the team took notice and the rest is simply history.

Although they are still 1-2 in area play, they will have a chance to avenge some of those losses in the near future.

on Friday night will be a tough one. However, you've got to play those talented teams to see how your team truly stacks up.

I believe the Tigers finding themselves winning these games through their intense and aggressive defensive play.

If you haven't seen them play yet, you need to.

The Hillcrest game had electricity in the air; especially when the regulation ending basket was made to propel the Tigers into OT.

I haven't heard a crowd scream so loud on one play since my days of covering those collegiate sports on "The Loveliest Village on the Plains."

If Bledsoe's team can continue to improve with each game, they'll

have a legitimate shot at making some noise later on.

The fans will be bringing the noise too, if that is the case.
