"He thrives on pressure," Bledsoe said.

Smith hit the shot with :08 left in the game.

With the win, Bledsoe defeated the coach he played for in high school, Richard Robertson.

"I'm real proud of the players," he said. "It was a total team effort."

Jeremiah McConico led the Tigers with 16 points and Carlos Blackmon added eight in the win.

After being tied at halftime at 24 each, the Tigers held a brief 32-28 lead at the end of the third quarter.

"Andalusia made a fourth quarter run but we hit our free throws when we had to," the coach said.

GHS converted four of five free throws down the stretch.

The next day, the Tigers came out running as they defeated the Georgiana Panthers by the score of 66-52.

"We were a little flat against Georgiana on Saturday," Bledsoe said. "Our defense was lacking at the first of the game but we picked up the intensity before the half.."

GHS had a 35-24 lead at halftime.

In the game, McConico scored a game high 17 points and Bedgood added 12 points in the win.

In the second half, the Tigers maintained their lead but could not "put them away."

"We could never put them away for good," the coach said. "However, our bench did a good job to close the game out and give us the win."

The Panthers were led by 16 points from Franklin and 11 points from both Lewis and McIntosh.

With the win, the Tigers have won their last six of eight ball games following the 0-5 start.
