Wow, 2500.00 a week is a fair salary?? Someone please tell me how it takes this a week to support a family of 5? Ok someone explain this to me. Whats the salary of a police officer, who puts his life on the line every day? Whats the salary of a nurse? Whats the salary of a TEACHER, who spends 3/4 of the year face to face with our kids? What kind of job did the wife have, and to what standard of living is needed for 2500.00 a week? Can the wife not find another job? Sorry, dont mean to go off in a rant, but I think 130k a year is too much for a super. --- i'm just saying

Just a thought here... Isnt gambling basically buying in on a chance to win something larger? Put a dollar bill in a slot machine to have a chance to win more dollar bills? So can someone tell me the difference in the little old ladies selling raffle tickets for home made blankets and such? Thats still buying in on a chance to win something greater. What about the schools selling $5 dollar tickets for a chance to win gift cards to walmart? They are raising money for their school... by gambling. Everything you do in life is a gamble. Its just some things are more of a risk than others. Nothing in life is certain except death. If I want to go to Atmore, or white hall and spend my hard earned money on a chance, then so be it. I worked for my money and I can spend it any way I choose. If Alabama doesnt want my money I am sure Florida and Mississippi do. You want to call me stupid and foolish, then so be it. Its going to take a heck of a lot more than a few typed words to break the person I am. Sticks and Stones.

I am a proud parent of 2 McKenzie students. You want to know about waste in the north county schools.. well let me fill you in. The Middle school in Greenville was a huge waste. Some of the materials used (ceiling grid, flooring.. etc) was higher priced but lower grade. You dont always get what you pay for. And how do I know this? My husband, who is a licensed contractor was there. He said its a shame to see this is where his/our hard earned money was being wasted. Same thing in the Athletic building in Greenville, and all the extras that the BCMS has. Want to talk about field trips and school supplies? I paid for field trips, just like every other parent with children in McKenzie school. I paid for tickets, and meals and gas money for bus. But why are so many getting bent out of shape over field trips that the parents pay for, and not over all the sports teams Greenville has and EVERYONE in the county paying for them to go on trips? This year I sent money to my childs teacher to pay for printer ink. How many Greenville or even BCMS parents had to do that? For those who think we only have 12-15 students per class, I invite you to come sit in either one of my childrens class. BCMS is not large enough to house both schools. So then again we are looking at having to build a larger school. We already see what a wonderful success the Magnet program was/is. So again, why mess with success? McKenzie is an amazing school. Terrific staff and great students. Both of my daughters started their very first day of school there and I hope their last day of high school will be at McKenzie.

Also, to the Mckenzie teacher.. I hope that you are my daughters teacher next year. We could use more teachers/parents who arent afraid to stand up for what they believe in!!

I do know that Danny was the fire chief of Garland Fire Dept for a while. Probably not the best example of management. I will also say this about him... when he left the south end of the county, he really lost touch with his supporters here. Yes I voted for him when he ran against Diane. But given what I know now verses what I knew then.. It would be Diane all the way. Just my thoughts.

You know how they hold the presidential debates, well thats what I think they should do with these candidates. Let's put all four on the chopping block, and let the public ask the questions. I know the board has the bottom line say over who will get the job, but maybe depending on how they handle being on the spot with disgruntalled parents, it will sway the minds of the board members. I believe us as parents actually ask the tough questions, and we demand answers, not just sugar coated BS. Make it an open forum, no holds barred. Then no matter who the board decides on, we will already know what to expect. Just an idea........

Darryl, it should be obvious that cops are themselves above the law. I have been in Greenville, and seen police speeding around, doing the rolling stops at stop signs, not use turn signals, not use seat belts and talking on cell phones while cutting other drivers off. And yet, they dont get tickets. Where is the justice in that? I have even seen police officers off duty being looked over for doing the same things. But what can we as citizens do about it? Absolutely nothing! It's a proven fact that the judical system in Butler County does not work for the commoner. But its a great system for law enforcement, and people directly associated with them.

This is the same man, who's son use to drive a race car at the dirt track. Same man who would show up drunk off his butt and start drama with anyone who would even think about rubbing paint with his son. His son was a lousey driver anyway. This man has a healthy drinking appetite. I like the occassional drink myself, but I also know when in the public eye you keep your drinking at home. Has anyone else noticed that Andrews is kinda like a revolving door? He is all for whatever issue he thinks will make him look good in the public eye, but when put on the spot... his answers swing.
