I think the roads are oone of the most inportant projects in the county. Some of the roads within this county are in dire straits. There are some potholes that could swallow a child. That pothole patcher the county spent all that money on was not a good bargan, they should have paid someone to take it with them. The road crew patches a hole with it and the next time it rains, guess what the pothole is back. When a person needs some dirt they have to practically pull someones arm to get it. I needed a well filled in the commissioner told me "we don't do that." I went to the county barn and Mr McCall told me to sign an easement and they would be out there in the morning. So in theory just go to the source for what you need to the non elected county officials they get the job done. Yeah those commissioners will be offering everything in the world for your vote around election time but still don't deliver.

I think the roads are important to the county, however I do not agree with others about the roads. Simply because there are big trucks that have to use the roads as well. The road crew works very hard to keep the roads in good condition not great but good. Also why do people in butler county go to the road dept. for dirt when there are plenty of others in butler county you can get dirt from. People need to understand that a dump truck CANNOT come on private property due to the fact of busting water lines or creating a mess. That being said renovating the annex for new employee offices would be a better advantage so that
others in butler county can have a job. In conclusion with this economy today what's more important JOBS or ROADS?! Honestly, the road dept and road crew are some of the best we have!!

Roads not more important than office space? Evidentially, you don't live on the roads that are in question. Emergency vehicles not to mention school buses travel on roads that were paved in the 50's. And you believe that the few dollars that we have should go to building walls so that bunny calendars and football schedules can be pinned to them?
