A major and highly respected U.S. university suggested the following to be true.
It found that the top 10 percent of the social network’s most active users accounted for about 90 percent of all tweets, and most of those users were men.
The study also suggests that Twitter users are self-obsessed.
I view social networks to be nearly a total waste of time. But do take into account the numerous images that came from Iran via social networking.

lol too true BF!
I myself have myspace and use it to stay in touch with friends I've made around the world. I also use it's blogging capabilities to empty alot of the junk in my head instead of writing on the writer's resource site I use. They do have their uses, but I think that the study you've cited is not only funny but wayyyy too accurate.

The study actually was done at Harvard University. A snippet of the report with some interesting findings can be found at the following link. You can also read and post your comments about the study at this site. Hope that the Advocate allows this link.

I too participate in myspace, I use it to monitor my childrens' social activities on the web and also their friends. I have my own friends and relatives that participate but its use is mainly to see what my kids are up to.
