J.C. Phifer Sr. J.C. Phifer Sr. died on Saturday, December 16, 2007 at Crowne Health Care in Greenville. Funeral Services were held on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 11 a.m. from St. Francis Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Lewis officiating and Hudson Funeral Service directing. Mr. Phifer is survived by his wife, Mary Phifer; seven children, Alma Mayes, Annie (Johnny) Hamilton, Bertha (Robert) Hawkins, JC. Phifer Jr., Robert (Ronica) Phifer of Greenville; James (Tena) Phifer of Tuscaloosa, Timothy (Deborah) Phifer of Pelham; sister, Beulah Mae (Robert) Morris of Birmingham; 26 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends Joe B. Hobbs Hobbs, Joe B., age 73, a resident of Greenville, died on Wednesday, January 9, 2008. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Mr. Hobbs is survived by his son, Joey (Brenda) Hobbs of Greenville, AL, daughter, Beth (Teddy) Mauch of Greenville, AL, grandchildren, Kelsey Hobbs, Zachary Hobbs, Teddy Mauch, Ethan Mauch, Cody Mauch, Savannah Mauch all from Greenville, AL, step-grandchildren, Valerie McLaughlin, Emily McLaughlin, and Erin Poole. Marion A. Mothershed Mrs. Marion Annetta Mothershed, 75, a resident of Highland Home, died Friday, January 11, 2008, at Crenshaw Community Hospital. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Lodge Cemetery with Rev. William Burns officiating. Family will receive friends on Sunday, January 13, 2008 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home. Ora Ottie Thomas Ora Ottie Thomas, age 106, of Luverne, passed away Thursday, January 10, 2008. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the chapel of Turner Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Burns and the Rev. William Leverette officiating. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, Montgomery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Mrs. Thomas is survived by five stepchildren, Harry (Mildred) Thomas, Mildred Moore, Annette (Billy) Murry, Jack (Julia) Thomas, Tommy (Juanita) Sullivan; sixteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Jeanette Moates and Tommie Byrd, both of Enterprise. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Luverne First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday. Robert Linwood Aplin Jr. Robert Linwood Aplin Jr. (Bobby), 63, a resident of Georgiana, died Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at his residence. Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday , January 14, 2008 from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Harvill officiating and Johnson Funeral home directing. Survivors include a number of cousins. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alabama Children's Home.
